My name is Gregg Lentz. I am a father to 5 children and have been married to my wife Alison for 20 years! I was born and raised in Arizona and have been here all my life. I have been a firefighter for 22 years. I graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1999.
In 2009 my investment/retirement account was cut in half. I would not have enough money to retire if I wanted to 10 years later. I stopped putting money into the stock market and started putting my money into the bank. During this time, I held down 4 jobs to provide my family. I was adjunct faculty at a local community college teaching Fire Science courses, I owned a moving company and then a landscape company. I continued to put the profits into the bank. I was introduced to a local real estate investor and learned about the idea of being a lender and earning a much greater return on my money.
I had no idea what he was talking about and thought that banks could only lend money, so I picked up some books and started researching. Private hard money lending turned into doing fix and flips, and using those profits to partner with several other projects including apartments, Extended suites hotels, Storage units and am in the process of purchasing a mobile home park!
I love the passive income and equity involved with real estate. It has allowed me to retire from the fire department much sooner than I had originally planned.
I look forward to many more opportunities in the near future and helping others see the value of investing in real estate.
